The DCS-2100 is the newest state-of-the-art digital intercommunication system from Palomar Products. The DCS-2100 is based on Palomar's field proven TDM digital switching technology used in air traffic control and custom telephony applications. The DCS-2100 uses modular components providing a complete solution for systems demanding high-quality digital voice/data switching and conferencing with combined system management.
Features include a unique distributive architecture, which is easily customizable for a tailored design and strategic placement of system components. The system is a secure digital switch with isolated buses to carry multiple levels of secure data. The isolated bus structure extends from radio and crypto assets and is maintained throughout all components of the DCS-2100, including the digital Operator Positions. The DCS-2100 provides complete management of the Communications Suite, and coordinates modes of transceivers, cryptos, data modems and host computers with the actions and indications at Operator Positions.
Flexibility has been built into the distributive modular architecture, allowing a system to be constructed in a variety of ways. The system can be configured for multiple levels of security. All functions are modular and can be scaled to customer requirements by adding or removing cards. Card and box level maintenance philosophies are supported. To simplify the efficient placement of system components and improve fault tolerance, the system can also be configured as a series of smaller modules interconnected by high-speed buses. These modules can then be strategically placed, separated by hundreds of feet without loss in performance. The uniqueness of this architecture offers limitless possibilities with respect to placement of components and growth. The DCS-2100 provides deterministic switching of signals with low latency to minimize problems with time sensitive signals and echo.
All voice and data signals exchanged within DCS-2100 are categorized in separate hierarchical security levels, which are isolated using multiple hardware mechanisms. There is no need for trusted software. This allows Palomar to easily customize functionality without having to revalidate system security.
Operator Positions for the DCS-2100 are available in a variety of configurations to meet operational requirements. Operator positions are available with color LCD for flexibility and with custom integrated front panel layouts and individual rotary volume controls. All operator positions support binaural audio.
As with all Palomar systems, the DCS-2100 has an emergency backup mode that uses no extra wires. This provides PA, a CALL NET and access to radios for a safe ride home.
The DCS-2100 has evolved from Palomar's Air Traffic Control, telecom, and military ICS systems. In addition to the traditional airborne interfaces, DCS-2100 can be upgraded with telecom interfaces such as T1, E1 or telephones.
